An explosion has leveled a home in northwest Ohio, leaving one person dead and another missing.

Authorities just south of Toledo say three other people were injured in the blast that happened early Tuesday morning near the village of Stony Ridge.

The Wood County Sheriff's Office says four people were found outside the single-story home.

Neighbors say that the explosion woke them up around 5 a.m. and that they saw flames across the street. They say the explosion knocked items off their walls.

Another neighbor says it sounded like a plane had crashed.

The explosion scattered debris throughout the home's yard.
