New Bedford police are looking for a suspect responsible for a vehicle theft Wednesday night.

Detective Captain Steven Vicente says that a 30-year-old man from Rochester walked into the South End Police station around 7:45 p.m. and reported that he had been robbed.

The victim said he met someone on Facebook who wanted to purchase his 2006 yellow Yamaha YFZ450 quad.

They agreed to meet in the area of Katherine St. and Bonney St.

Upon meeting up with the potential buyer the victim took the quad off his pick up truck and placed it on the ground.

The victim says the suspect then knocked him to the ground and fled with the vehicle.

Vicente says the suspect is described a 6' tall white male, approximately 20 years of age, with light facial hair and wearing a bright yellow sweatshirt.

Anyone with information is asked to contact detectives at 508-991-6300 ext. 320 or leave an anonymous tip at 508-961-4584.
