The Massachusetts Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs is awarding Bristol Community College $600,000 to invest in wind energy on its Fall River campus.  The total cost of the  turbine project is $3.2 million to be paid thru the state's Clean Energy Investment Program.  BCC President John Sbrega says the wind turbine will be smaller and less noisy than others in the region, but it will save hundreds of thousands of dollars in energy costs every year.

Sbrega says BCC officials have spent a year planning for the turbine, including meeting with neighbors to explan the project.  Construction is expected to start later this year.
