A Wareham man is arrested after allegedly trying to steal air conditioners.

Police Chief Kevin Walsh says officers were called to Stop & Shop on Cranberry Highway Saturday morning for a report of a shoplifter who left the store with two air conditioners. The man had left the units behind and left in his silver Toyota sedan after he was confronted by store security.

Police soon spotted the suspect's car at the nearby Home Depot, where they observed him loading an air conditioner into the vehicle.

Upon determining the A/C was not paid for, police arrested 29-year-old Mark Robbins, Jr. of Wareham. He's charged with larceny over $250 and has been arraigned in Wareham District Court.
