Walmart's Vice President of Communications David Tovar is resigning after the company found he falsified his academic record on his resume.

"Bloomberg" reports the retailer discovered the discrepancy while conducting a due diligence screening.

Tovar said he'd received a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Delaware in 1996.

The university said it hadn't issued Tovar a diploma. (Metro Networks Inc)
