Two Killed In Middleborough Crash

AP - Authorities in Middleborough say two people have been killed in a two-car head-on crash on Route 44.

Middleborough police said the crash happened at about 1 p.m. Tuesday near a Holiday Inn Express hotel.

Middleborough police spokesman Sgt. Joe Perkins tells The Boston Globe that the drivers were a 63-year-old Middleborough man and a 40-year-woman. They were pronounced dead at the scene. Perkins said the man was driving a Toyota and the woman was driving a Buick.

The names were not immediately released.
