Tornado Rips Through Campground In Virginia, Two Dead
Virginia State Police say there are two confirmed deaths from a tornado that ripped through a campground this morning on Virginia's Eastern Shore. The state's department of emergency management had reported a third death but a state police spokeswoman now says that was an erroneous report.
A man and woman from Jersey City, New Jersey were killed when a tree fell on their tent. Their son is hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.
The twister hit this morning in Cape Charles and flipped over trailers and toppled trees. Witnesses describe seeing golf ball-sized hail during the storm. At least 20 people have been injured.
Upwards of 13-hundred people were at the campground when the twister came through. (Metro Networks Inc.)
