There were a few transportation glitches on the opening day of school in New Bedford. But Supt. Dr. Pia Durkin still gave the district an "A-" for the opening of school Tuesday.

Dr. Durkin knows that all eyes on are on New Bedford's underperforming schools, New Bedford High, Parker School, and Hayden McFadden.

Durkin says she's working with parents and the transportation provider to smooth out those glitches by Wednesday.

She adds teachers and students alike were very enthusiastic about the start of the new school year.
