The Somerset Board of Selectmen has teamed up with other town departments, organizations, and businesses for a holiday festival on Dec. 9 from 5 to 7 p.m.

According to The Herald News, the festival will take place at where County and Buffinton streets form the triangular green in the area of popular stores and shops.

Recreation Director Barry Fontaine said that Santa Claus will be attending the event at the gazebo in the middle of the green.

The Somerset Lions Club will also be selling “memory candy canes,” said Lions Club Chairman, Michael Correia.  The candy canes will be two to three feet tall, and will have ribbons tied to them with the names of remembered loved ones.

Parking for the holiday festival will be located in the adjacent parking lot to Walgreens lot.
