Adam Scott is off to another good start in a major, shooting a 5-under 65 that left him tied for the lead with Jim Furyk after the opening round of the PGA Championship on Thursday.

Scott won his first major title at the Masters, and he was out front on the final day of the British Open before fading.

The Aussie shot a 5-under 30 on the front nine at Oak Hill, taking advantage of a course softened by overnight rain and ripe for the taking. Scott got to 6 under after play resumed following a 71-minute delay while more storms passed.

Scott's only stumble came at the 16th, where he missed a 5-footer to take his first bogey.

Tiger Woods shot 71 after making a double bogey on his final hole.
