Information sharing is one of the most important practices the New Bedford School Committee needs to stay on top of. That's according to Dr. Irwin Blummer, former Superintendent of Schools in Newton, who met with committee members for two hours Thursday night, giving a laundry list of how the committee can communicate more effectively with department heads and other department staff.

Blummer says the system can break down when information is not shared with fellow committee members and administrators.

Blummer provided committee members with models of school committees from successful school districts throughout the state. The committee will review the models, taking Blummer's suggestions into consideration.
