Sam Smith has been forced to cancel more dates on his world tour.

The British pop singer is suffering from a vocal cord hemorrhage, and on Tuesday, announced the cancellations of several concerts in Japan and the Philippines in addition to the ones cancelled in Australia last week.

Sam writes on Instagram that he's "very upset" that his injury is still causing a problem and that he's now seeking treatment from a specialist in the U.S.

Fans stateside are hoping Sam will heal in time for his upcoming festival dates.  He's slated to perform at the Hangout Festival in Alabama on May 15th and the Rock In Rio festival in Las Vegas on May 16th.  (Metro Networks Inc.)
