New Bedford Police Investigate Two Crimes With Strong Similarities
New Bedford Police are investigating two incidents with strong similarities.
Detective Captain Steven Vicente says the first incident took place around 9:00 p.m. Sunday when a man entered the Luk Oil at 1800 Purchase Street with an object wrapped inside a plastic bag.
The clerk refused to hand over any money and the suspect fled the scene.
The suspect is described as a white male five feet ten inches tall wearing grey sweatpants, a bluish green sweatshirt, a black knit hat, and a black ski mask
Three and a half hours later a robbery took place at the 7-11 at 489 Rockdale Avenue when a man walked in with an object wrapped in a sock like material demanding money.
The suspect then fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.
He's described as white man between five feet 7 inches and five feet nine inches tall, wearing light colored pants, a light colored sweatshirt, and a black ski mask.
The clerks in both stores were unharmed.
