Parking Ban Declared For New Bedford

The City of New Bedford has declared a Snow Emergency Parking Ban, starting tonight at midnight.  Snow is expected to begin early Wednsday morning with three to six inches expected in the Southeast Region.  The Parking Ban will extend to Wednesday at 6pm. 

City officials say the general rule of thumb for the parking ban is to parking on the side of the street opposite the fire hydrants.  No parking on either side will be allowed in the Acushnet Avenue Business District and in the Downtown. 

No decision has been made yet on whether to cancel school.
