The weather will be perfect and the route will be picturesque as many join us Sunday, September 22 for the annual Superhero Walk and Race at beautiful Fort Taber in New Bedford.

Bring the family and help us thank and raise awareness and funds for the Meeting Street Schwartz Center Campus. For a lot of local families, the Schwartz Center has been a godsend for their developmentally challenged children for over 70 years.

Ron and Pete Cardi of Cardi's Furniture & Mattresses and I will be launching the event Sunday morning. The Walk and Run start at about 9 a.m., so if you get there earlier, there will be plenty of time to register and participate. If you can't donate, no worries, we'd love you and your family to join us as we walk as a family unit dedicated to supporting our children of the Meeting Street Schwartz Center Campus.

Red capes will be given to the kids, our real superheroes. Before the start, we'll have a few messages to share, especially this year, the first time Nick Cardi won't be with us, having passed in August of brain cancer.

You can contact Lianne Pinheiro at (401) 533-9235 or lpinheiro@meetingstreet.org if you have any questions. Thank you in advance and we're hoping to see you there!
