New Bedford Teen Missing For More Than Two Weeks

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children has put out a notice about a missing New Bedford teen.

The Center says Brooke Avelar has been missing since August 14. The Center says she may still be in the local area, or perhaps has traveled to Taunton. Brooke's nose is pierced on the right side and her ears are pierced as well. She has a tattoo on the right forearm of a butterfly and a heart. Brooke may use the alias of Brittany.

Anyone with information as to Brooke Avelar's whereabouts should contact New Bedford Police.
