School Superintendent Thomas Anderson is in his third year as the leader of New Bedford Public Schools, and under his direction, the School Department continues to make gains in academic achievement.

Anderson stops by Townsquare Sunday this week to update area residents on a host of educational topics, including ways to improve the city's middle schools, MCAS scores, and some secrets behind the success of the Congdon School.

Supt. Anderson also details how the public school system is coming to the aid of students at the soon-to-be-closed City on a Hill Charter School in New Bedford. His interview can be heard right here.

Townsquare Sunday is a weekly public affairs program heard every Sunday morning at 6 a.m. on 1420 WBSM. Interviews can also be accessed on wbsm.com, the WBSM app and on YouTube at WBSM TV.
