New Bedford Man Arrested with Illegal Loaded Gun

NEW BEDFORD — A New Bedford man is arrested after he is found with an illegal loaded firearm.

Monday night, members of the New Bedford Police Narcotics Unit arrested 19-year-old Davante Cromwell of 9 Bedford Street, Apartment 27, on charges of illegal possession of a loaded firearm.

Cromwell was located in a vehicle on Russell Street, near Monte Park. He was found in possession of an unlicensed 9mm firearm with 10 rounds of ammunition in the magazine. The arrest was made as part of an ongoing effort to target street-level crime.

The arrest was made at 8:17 p.m.
