Police said further investigations led to Hector Abreu-Garcia, 29, as an alleged suspect in the shooting. On the evening of Monday, November 6, police spotted Garcia in the area of the Blue Meadows housing development, and he was taken into custody after a brief foot pursuit.

Garcia has been charged with assault and battery with a firearm with intent to murder, among other charges. Police said Garcia has a lengthy criminal history for a variety of offenses, including two previous convictions for firearm possession.

He is currently being held without bail at the Dartmouth House of Correction.
