The alarm system at Keith Middle School is now fully functional. Yet, there are plenty of questions as to how the alarm was disabled since at least 2008. Speaking on his weekly radio program, Mayor Jon Mitchell isn't certain if there will ever be a definitive answer since there have been several leadership changes since the school was constructed in 2006.

Mitchell confirms Superintendent Dr. Pia Durkin handed out disciplinary action Tuesday after an internal personnel investigation. Neither Durkin nor Mitchell would go into specifics as to how many people were disciplined, and what the level of discipline was.

The status of the alarm system was brought to public light after an early August break-in and vandalism case in the school. Thirteen people have been charged in that case.
