This weekends Miss America Contestant from Kansas will be showing a little more than just skin this weekend during the competition.  Miss Kansas Theresa Vail who has the Serenity Prayer on her right side and an Army tatoo on her shoulder, will be the first contestant to have visible tatoos.  Theresa says her platform is to 'empower women to overcome stereotypes and break barriers' she also adds that it would be hipocritical of her to cover up her tatoos.  She also adds, 'in the job description of Miss America, it clearly states that she must represent contemporary women between the ages of 17-24. The operative word here is 'contemporary,' synonymous with modern! 1 in 5 Americans have a least 1 tattoo.'  The Miss America Pageant airs Sunday on ABC.
