MIDDLEBORO — The Middleboro Police Department is investigating a stabbing that took place at a hotel this morning that left a man with life-threatening injuries.

Chief Joseph Perkins reports that at approximately 8:55 a.m. this morning, Middleboro Police and Fire personnel responded to the Quality Inn, located at 30 East Clark Street, after hotel staff called to report an adult male guest that was having difficulty breathing.

Upon arrival, Perkins says it was discovered that the man was suffering from a stab wound to the chest.

The victim was transported to a Brockton hospital by a Middleboro Fire Department ambulance. Perkins said his injuries are believed to be life-threatening.

Perkins said that the incident remains under active investigation.
