24/7 News Source - The head of Boston's transit agency is resigning following a controversial decision to shut down rail service during a huge snowstorm.

Massachusetts transit officials say Beverly Scott will step down on April 11th.

Her resignation letter didn't mention the shutdown or the criticism the agency received over its performance during the recent series of storms from the state's governor.

Boston's transit system was shut down Monday evening and remained closed through yesterday.
