The Massachusetts Gaming Commission will meet in Fall River later this month, to discuss the possibility of accepting applications from commercial developers to build a casino in Southeastern Mass.

The state's casino law allowed for a tribal casino in Region C, the Southeastern part of the state, but some fear the federal process to take land into trust could delay the tribal casino for years.

Rep. Robert Koczera of New Bedford hopes the commssion will do the right thing....

Koczera says the region shouldn't have to wait for a casino, saying it needs the jobs and revenue a casino would bring.

The Commission meeting will be Thursday, on March 21, at Bristol Community College in Fall River.
