Man Charged With Assaulting Cab Driver

Police Photo of Braulio Jones[/caption]A New Bedford man is facing assault charges after allegedly beating up a cab driver Monday night.

The driver told Police he had picked up the man in Fall River and transported him to aTallman Street address. When he asked for payment, he was attacked.

Police say the suspect was picked up about a block away. Thirty-one year old Braulio Jones of Tallman Street had the cab keys in his possession. He was arraigned on four counts, including assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Police say the driver was bleeding from the face and nose, and there was swelling to his forehead area. He also had abrasions to his legs, where he claimed his attacker struck him with the cab. He was transported by ambulance to St. Luke's Hospital.
