The South Coast of Massachusetts is about 15 to 25 miles away from the equivalent of what gold is to California and oil is to Saudi Arabia! Our affluence is a premier location for industrial scale offshore wind not far from Horseneck Beach if you're looking out to sea beyond the horizon. So what kind of skills and training will be needed to fill the different kinds of jobs?

Trades like marine welding, electronics, construction and different types of engineering are some of the local jobs in the more traditional sense. Bristol Community College's Energy and Sustainability Center is ready to teach and train a skilled marine labor force with programs including professional certifications. New careers will soon launch in three years or so. It's necessary to have a local workforce that's trained and ready to go!
