Amazon is getting some financial incentives to construct a new distribution center at the Fall River-Freetown line.

Governor Charlie Baker says the state Economic Assistance Coordinating Council is supporting over $3 million in investment tax credits for Amazon.  The project could bring 500 new full-time jobs and 2,000 seasonal positions.

Both Fall River and Freetown have already approved tax increment agreements for Amazon.

Construction in the SouthCoast Life Science and Technology Park is expected to be completed in 2016, with the facility becoming operation by the end of next year.
