The Funny or Die site should be dead right now, because their latest video is far from humorous. There are some jokes that go a little too far. This takes the viral video “10 Hours of Walking in NYC as a Woman,” and twists it to feature a white man. As the young man walks down the street, he receives “catcalls” like “Hey powerful,” “Hey Harvard,” “You wanna network with me?” “You want a job?” Or my personal favorite, calling him the King of New York as they carry him over their heads in a chair, handing him a crown and staff.

I understand that they were exaggerating the concept of male privilege, but it was over the top. And poorly timed as it was only published one day after the Rob Bliss video. Their message only had 24 hours to go viral, and received mixed reviews. I think it’s important to make people, men especially, aware of how women are treated. There is a right way to speak to a woman. There’s also a wrong way.

Do you think Funny or Die took it too far with this one?
