Freetown Police arrest a former Fall River City Councilor early Sunday morning for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol and with a suspended license.

Brian Bigelow, of Fall River, allegedly failed a field sobriety test after police pulled him over for erratic driving on Route 24 South in Freetown. A computer check also revealed that he was driving with a suspended license.

Police observed Bigelow's Jeep Cherokee on Route 24 going 50 mph and erratically moving "all over the road," almost striking a guardrail at one time. Bigelow consented to a field sobriety test but failed to maintain his balance.

Bigelow left the council in 2011 after he declined to seek re-election. He is being arraigned  in Fall River District Court.
