Fall River Elementary School Placed On Lockdown

A Fall River elementary school was placed on lockdown Tuesday afternoon.

Lieutenant Ronald Furtado says police were investigating an armed home invasion that took place in the Niagra section of the city.

Investigators received information that the suspect may be located near Pleasant Street and Eastern Avenue and they began a search of that area.

The search included areas that abut the Watson School and school officials and police locked down the school as a precaution.

Furtado says that at no time was there any danger posed to the school, students, or staff.

The suspect wasn't located during the search and Furtado says police have moved the search to another area of the city.
