Easter Candy And Plants Can Be Deadly To Pets
Although filled Easter Eggs and chocolate bunnies will be a sweet treat for us and the kids, they can be life-threatening to our pets!
Chocolate is particularly damaging to animals’ hearts and nervous systems. Many candy brands contain a sweetener that can cause a very quick drop in your pet’s blood pressure. Other dangerous foods for our animal friends include grapes, raisins, macadamia nuts, walnuts, onions and avocados.
Potentially toxic flowers and decorations include white lilies (they are highly toxic to cats) and the artificial Easter basket grass can be fatal if swallowed by pets. Contact a veterinarian or poison control center if your pet consumes any of these items.
