The Bristol County District Attorney's Office has ruled the discovery of a body in New Bedford as a homicide.

The man, identified as 32-year-old Edson A. Ramos of New Bedford, was found early Sunday morning near Weld Square. Police had responded to the area adjacent to Route 18 near the Route 195 overpass after reports of shots fired just after 2am Sunday morning. Upon arrival, police found the victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators are not disclosing the exact manner of Ramos' death at this time.
