Downtown New Bedford was filled with positive ideas this weekend.

The Marion Institute held its 10th annual Connecting for Change conference on Purchase Street and at the Zeiterion Theater Friday and Saturday.

Thousands of people from over 20 states visited the event to take part in workshops, the farmers market, or listen to keynote speeches.

Jay O'Hara was one of the speakers and also one of the demonstrators behind the Lobster Boat Blockade at the Brayton Point Power Plant last year. He says this type of event in the city brings all types of people together...

Other keynote speakers included Bristol County District Attorney Sam Sutter and nationally renowned author Joel Salatin.

The goal of the two day conference is to promote positive thinking to solve issues in communities across the region.

Major topics revolved around climate change, renewable energy, and innovative technology.
