Boeing is releasing a statement on the Malaysia Airlines crash in eastern Ukraine that appears to have killed all 295 people on board.

The Chicago-based plane manufacturer said "our thoughts and prayers are with those on board MH17, as well as their families and loved ones.

We stand ready to provide assistance." The Boeing 777 went down today about 25 miles from the Russian border.

Ukrainian officials claim pro-Russia separatists shot the plane out of the sky with an air-to-surface missile.

A rebel spokesman says it was the Ukrainian military that shot down the plane.
