Body Identified After Rounds St Fire

The State Medical Examiner's Office has confirmed the identity of the body found after a house fire on Rounds Street in New Bedford earlier this week.

Through fingerprint identification, the body has been identified as 29-year-old Justin Downey of 55 Rounds Street.

Downey's body was discovered in his second floor bedroom after firefighters extinguished the blaze Tuesday morning.

The Medical Examiner's Office is performing an autopsy to determine the official cause of death.

The investigation into the fire and the death is ongoing.
