You've heard people say that they're more creative when they're stoned, or they can drive just fine after toking up. Well, this mother of three young children wrote a controversial essay for Cosmopolitan in which she said she's a better parent when she's a "little stoned." Lea Grover, who has five-year-old twins and a three-year-old, said that when things get crazy at home, smoking a little pot helps her be a better mother, writing, "With marijuana, I have more patience. I am slower to get angry or frustrated. When my kids are bickering for the 15 time in as many minutes, I can disappear for 30 seconds, come back a bit high, and mediate calmly, with a smile, no less."

Ms. Grover also wrote that being a little stoned makes her more likely to do fun things with her kids like baking cookies or playing board games, quote, "any of the things that under normal circumstances make my shoulders tense up as I contemplate inevitable messes and tantrums." She states that she never drives her kids when she's stoned, doesn't smoke in front of the kids and avoids relying on marijuana.

So, what do you think of this mother saying that she's a better mother when she's a little stoned, and her explanations of how she's a better mom, such as, being more willing to bake cookies? And do you think reaction would be different if she'd written that she's a better mother when she's a "little drunk?"
