Everybody knows WBSM is our hometown radio station. My broadcast roots here date back to 2009. My familial seeds were planted at the tail end of the last century. Yet, I cast myself as the proverbial outsider. Most listeners get flustered and frustrated over my freedom-oriented, constitutional, often contrarian rants, but I’m OK when their freedom or livelihood is at risk. Call me a passionate Libertarian, always advocating for the taxpayer and individualism. My bitcoin-business updates alert listeners on how to earn crypto and use it as a savings and payment tool. After retiring from full-time hosting, I still practice my preach. You'll find me operating two home businesses, actively promoting freedom and bitcoin, plus serving as a locally elected Dartmouth Town Meeting member. I’m most proud watching my two adult sons pursue their American dream. Mine consists of traveling, and learning more about places, people and the business side of bitcoin. My 40-foot shuttle bus is being converted into a motorhome-office studio, so I can travel, expand operations and host audio and video shows from wherever home is at that moment. I call it living my “Plan B” lifestyle!

Do Families Deserve School Choice? [Poll]
I consistently beat this drum. Usually with little to no response. For whatever the total package brings, the incoming Trump administration plans to push for real school choice. The Education Secretary nominee is hinting as much, by stating the one size fits all strategy doesn't work for every child

Deputizing Deputies To Deport Criminal Illegals [Poll]
It's called to the 287(g) program. It allows Sheriff's Deputies who volunteer, become certificated agents that can interview inmates about whether they are in the U.S. legally or not.
Bristol County Sheriff Tom Hodgson is down with 287(g), and will be signing his deputies up for the program Wednesday January 18...
MLK Day Should be Called ‘Civil Rights Day’
Today marks the 31st anniversary of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday observance. Approximately half of those years I have waged a battle to claim the day as a civil rights celebration/observance. As important an icon MLK Jr. is in our history, there are so many others, nameless, because Dr...
Mr. Mayor Crime is Down, We Need More Police [Poll]
Like the Yin and Yang. New Bedford Mayor Jon Mitchell finds himself in a police pickle. For months he's boasted that the city is a safer place to live and work. Mitchell often touts police crime statistics to support his notion. The numbers tells us that in many categories crime is down

The Timing of New Bedford Road Repairs [Poll]
There's no doubt New Bedford streets need a make over. The Mitchell administration plans to allocate millions of tax dollars to put in the fix and keep utility companies from carving up the streets after they've been healed.
I'm just curious about the timing...

From the outside looking in, the numbers from the Labor Department reflect a positive trend. Unemployment is down big time in the New Bedford area. The largest drop out of 387 metros.

Electric Vehicles and Your Tax Dollars [Poll]
Massachusetts has approximately 8,000 electric vehicles on the road. The Baker administration along with Beacon Hill lawmakers are pushing for a 300,000 quota over the next eight years. It's nice to have lofty goals, but check out some of the mandates and uses of your tax dollars to attain 300,000 electric vehicles...
Brian’s Beat: Police and Firefighters Should Not Have to Respond to Narcan Calls [Poll]
These numbers will make you stagger more than a drug addict. WBSM had the exclusive. Their numbers come direct from New Bedford Police.
When it comes to opiate-related overdoses, the numbers are up, way up in 2016 compared to 2015.
Overdoses: 2016-- 679; 2015-- 389
Fatals: 2016-- 42; 2015-- 25
I don't want to see people die...
Entrapment Is A Crime [Video]
New Bedford and Fall River should adopt the successful Angel Program used in 400 communities nationwide. The Angel Program allows drug users to go to police, turn in their stash and get treatment. This carrot is so much better than the stick approach law enforcement employs, like entrapment operations...
This Is Bigger Than Million Man March [Video]
This can't really be a controversy. Plain and simple. If the powers that be choose the Dartmouth High School Marching Band to play and march at Donald Trump's Presidential inauguration, the DHS band should fiddle their way into the hearts, minds and history books of the region...
