Lisa Mello-Frost and Melissa Correia are hoping to make a dent in ongoing youth violence in New Bedford. Both oversee the Youth Build program and work with young people ages 16-to-24.

Mello-Frost and Correia are holding a Youth Community Conversation on Wednesday, October 23 to learn what young people are thinking and doing, and why violence is often the end result. Their goal is for young people to come together in peace. Mello-Frost and Correia will visit Townsquare Sunday this week to discuss the upcoming community meeting, and hopefully what positive outcomes will come next.

Townsquare Sunday airs every Sunday at 6 a.m. on 1420 WBSM. The program highlights organizations and individuals working to improve the quality of life on the SouthCoast.  Interview segments can also be heard on wbsm.com, the WBSM app, and on WBSM TV on YouTube.

If you have a public event, festival, or neighborhood activity you want to publicize, submit your information here. You can also send an e-mail to Jim Phillips at jim.phillips@townsquaremedia.com.
