The White House is confirming the death of American aid worker Kayla Jean Mueller.

Mueller's death had previously been reported by the terror group ISIS, who had held her captive and claimed she had been killed in a Jordanian air strike in Syria.

The White House statement gives condolences to Mueller's family and says the nation shares in their grief.

It also says that the U.S. will find those responsible for Mueller's captivity and death and bring them to justice, no matter how long it takes.

The statement provides no details on how the 26-year-old Arizona woman died.
