WESTPORT — Westport police are looking for a silver sedan involved in a Sunday afternoon hit and run on Route 88 that left a man and his 10-year-old son with minor injuries.

Police said that at around 4:50 p.m. on June 6, officers responded to Route 88 just north of the Drift Road intersection, where a black Ford pickup truck was involved in a crash with a silver sedan that fled the scene.

Witnesses told police both vehicles were traveling south when the sedan attempted to pass the pickup truck.

According to the witnesses, there was oncoming northbound traffic. The sedan lost control during the maneuver and started to skid, crashing into the driver's side of the pickup and forcing it off the road into the woods.

Police said the sedan continued south on the road.
