When an umpire blows a call, it can mean a lot. In this case, it meant the difference between first place in the American League East.

The Tampa Bay Rays take over first place in the AL East after the make up game played Monday night in Fenway Park. The Rays would go onto beat the Red Sox 2-1 after a blown call in the eighth inning. Instead of it being an out, it should have tied up the game.

Sox manager John Farrell came out to argue the call after the fact, and the fans at Fenway let the Ump hear their displeasure in the call.

This will once again bring up the "does the MLB need instant replay" conversation. As of right now, the only thing that replay can be used for is to review home runs. Should Major League Baseball finally do the right thing and implement this into the game as a regular thing?
