Wareham Firefighters Put Out Train Car Fire
WAREHAM — Wareham firefighters extinguished a fire in a train car on Tuesday, just days after responding to a gas leak scare at the Cranberry Highway Target.
The Wareham Fire Department wrote about the incidents in two Facebook posts late Tuesday night.
In the first post, the department described receiving a report of a possible gas leak at the Target on Cranberry Highway last Friday.
Then on Tuesday evening, firefighters responded to a report of a fire in a train car on Freight House Road.
The same two fire engines arrived along with Squad 2 and "quickly extinguished" the flames, according to the department's second post.
Fire Chief John Kelley was the incident commander during the train car incident.
The department did not disclose any possible causes for the fire.
