Walmart Proposal For Wareham Nearly Done

After a couple of year of debate, it looks like the proposed plan for a Walmart supercenter in Wareham is coming to a close. So when will it open?

According to reports, the Walmart would be located near Route 28 and Tobey Road. Walmart executives expect the town to sign off on the deal as soon as September 13. It would be a larger store than the one located in East Wareham, which it will be replacing,and as of right now the only thing left to discuss is he local traffic situation.

Before any sort of construction can begin, Walmart has to complete the Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act, because they new store would be located close to the habitat of the eastern box turtle.
