Students at Normandin Middle School in New Bedford didn't have to go far to participate in Wednesday's International Walk To School Day.  More than 1,000 Normandin students walked around the schools outdoor track for about twenty minutes.  Their principal, William Burkehead, urged them to make good health a priority every day. And Mayor Jon Mitchell reminded students, there are lessons to be learned from "Walk to School Day."

Normandin student Marissa Aguiar gave the program a thumb's up.

The program was organized by Mass In Motion New Bedford, an organization working with the city and local health partners to improve the health of city residents.
