The tragic death of a 9-month-old child over a week ago schocked New Bedford, but brought many people together Saturday night. Family, friends, and even those with only an emotional connection to those affected by the death of Ariel Eluziario turned out for a candlelight vigil at Buttonwood Park.

Donna is a relative of Ariel's mother, Amanda Eluziario, and tells WBSM News the vigil, and the circumstances around it should send a clear message to parents throughout New Bedford.

Family member Laurie says her feelings go out to the family of Ethen Harrison as well.

Harrison has been charged with assault and battery in the wake of Ariel's passing early January 25th, after being left in Harrison's care. Those charges could soon be upgraded to murder.

Over fifty people lit candles and walked around Buttonwood Park Saturday night in support of the Eluziario family.
