A Memorial Day salute in Dartmouth Monday to veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice.

As a parade made its way down Elm Street, Vietnam Veteran Wayne Amaral stood and saluted the Stars and Stripes everytime it passed by.

Amaral served in Vietnam in 1968 and 69.  He insists the U-S did not lose that war.  "We handed that war over to the South Vietnamese to fight and they just didn't have the heart for it, said Amaral.  He added, "They had our money, that's what they cared about."

Amaral says he sees great similarities between what happened in Vietnam, and what's happening now in Iraq with ISIS.

Amaral was a member of the Mass. National Guard when he was deployed to Vietnam.  He lost two friends while serving in Vietnam.
