A Freetown man suspected of a jewelry theft Wednesday in New Bedford was taken to Morton Hospital in Taunton following a heroin overdose that same day.

According to the Taunton Gazette, Luke Raffa was transported to Morton Hospital Wednesday afternoon after Police found him in a supermarket parking lot on County Street in Taunton.

Later Wednesday afternoon, Police learned that Raffa was wanted in New Bedford for stealing a bracelet from Folco Jewelers on Acushnet Avenue earlier that day.

A Taunton Police spokesman says authorities in New Bedford have been advised of Raffa's whereabouts.
