Update: Identity Of The Man Who Drowned Off Of Marion

The man who died after falling off his boat off the coast of Marion has been identified as a 65-year-old Worcester man.

Police said Monday that Ronald Josephson died after falling overboard near Bird Island on Sunday afternoon.

The Standard Times reports that Marion's harbormaster received a distress call around 1 p.m. Sunday that Josephson had fallen into the water. His wife told police he lost his balance while trying to fix a bumper. He was not wearing a life preserver.

The Coast Guard tried to resuscitate Josephson and Marion EMS took him to Tobey Hospital in Wareham, where he was pronounced dead.

The boat left out of Onset Harbor.
