According to a recent press release, United Way of Greater Fall River is inviting the SouthCoast community to participate in the annual campaign kickoff. “United We Move” is your chance to take a break from remote learning, virtual calls, and every other screen in your face. Get out and enjoy nature for an hour or two from Thursday, October 22 to Sunday, October 25 in support of UWGFR.

Choose from three different options to participate in this year’s event, and you can do it alone or “with your quarantine pod.”

  1. Walk the Tattapanum Trail, roughly 1.1 miles
  2. Run a 10k through the Bioreserve, which is 6.2 miles
  3. Ride through the gravel roads of the Bioreserve, which would be 10 miles

Find the time and trail that works for you and register HERE. The first 100 registrants get a United Way swag bag, so don’t delay registration if you are interested.

UWGFR is hosting a kick-off event on Thursday, October 22 at 10 am. “We’ll go live on Facebook to share a social-distanced pep talk to kick off the fundraising year and video the first participants taking off.” You’ll find members of UWGFR at the entrance to the Tattapanum Trail, at the intersection of Riggenbach and Wilson Roads.
