UMassD Expansion Project Meets Fundraising Milestone

A major fundraising milestone has been reached at UMass Dartmouth.

The Charlton Trust recently donated $3 million for the expansion of the Charlton School of Business on campus. The pledge was contingent on the university raising $1.5 million from other sources. The university announced this week, that goal had been reached.

UMass Dartmouth spokesman John Hoey tells WBSM News, a strong business school plays a key role in the region's economy.

Hoey says the university will continue to raise funds for the Charlton College of Business "Learning Pavilion" that will contain technology labs and smart classrooms for business students. The expansion has a price tag of about $15 million.
